Ernesto Romano's work is an exploration of the human body. His visions relate to a dream like state and the unconscious, reminding us of the power of the human mind and the existence of the soul.

Since an early age he has been visiting botanical gardens. This led in later years to the intense study of the botanical atlas. Cultivating precious floral species and superimposed structures are transferred onto x-rays in an attempt to preserve their beauty and to create analogies in combination with the human body. X-Rays from his own body portray intimate self portraits, conveying metamorphoses in symbiosis with the unique beauty of the floral form. Theses translucent black and white images are the quintessence of his photography. White skeletal shapes are overlaid with vibrant flowers revealing harmony and drawing attention to the fragility of the human body and the ephemeral nature of plants and flowers.
