This dialogue, embedded in the vitality of the forest, narrates tales of time and existence, awaiting its audience. ‘Whispers of the Woods’ is an artistic endeavour that captures these subtle melodies and transforms them into a form that is not only audible but deeply resonant. By converting the energies of trees into percussive sounds, each forest becomes its own unique symphony, creating a bridge between the visible human world and the invisible essence of nature.
Selected for their distinctive atmospheres and energies, six forests are musically portrayed through the analysis of one hundred trees each. These soundscapes open a window to the quiet, often overlooked voices of the woods. They invite us to experience the world of trees not just visually and tactilely but through an auditory reimagining—interpreting their stories, growth, life, and interactions with the environment in the language of music.
The resulting vinyl records are more than just recordings; they are acoustic chronicles that capture the essence of their respective forests. Each album reflects the specific patterns and energies of its forest, fostering a profound, emotional connection between the listener and these special places. This artistic project also serves as a philosophical commentary on the relationship between humans and nature, urging us to reconsider how we interact with our environment.
