At first glance we have an unassuming image depicting the corner of a frame with tiny dark spots, an issue I had not encountered before. The resin frames were custom made for the display of the drawings on behalf of the artist.
After the examination, I was able to confirm that these unique works on paper were in perfect conditions and the resin frames were in a solid state, however, the spots were a mystery. The owner did not remember if the tiny marks in the frames were present when he had made the purchase, nor did he have condition reports. Hence, I contacted the director of the gallery who represents the artist. The gallery consulted the artist and the frames had to be replaced due to an unexpected chemical reaction in the resin.
