STATUS REPORT - SOLARIS NEXUM

We are excited to inform you that in spite of Covid-19, the first phase of Solaris Nexum a site-specific commission by the artist Alexandra Carr, at the Technological University Dublin, has been completed. The next few months will see the construction of the thirty meter suspended sculpture at the artist's studio in Durham.

Carr's sculpture serves as a monument to solar connection through the ages of technology, and encourages us to retain respect for nature and to intelligently live in harmony with its resources, moving towards a technologically symbiotic age. She invites us to look both inwards and outwards to embrace all spheres of being into one harmonious whole.

OTHERWORLDLY ABSTRACTIONS  -  JOANNA JONES

Joanna Jones’ paintings are remarkably refreshing and uplifting. Her eccentric compositions where wondersome silhouettes emerge from the depth of the canvas capture the eye.  No beginning no end  -   journeys paused in the stream of time – taking hold of us. Dazzling frottages from heavenly planes, powerful and beguiling, strike a chord with our deepest inner being.

SECOND EARTH - CHRIS TILLE

Chris Tille’s new series Second Earth, analyses the finder charts of NASAs Exoplanet Science Institute. The organisation holds all the records of the known exoplanets in the Milky Way galaxy. What appears to be a starry night sky is in fact a collage of digital data,  representing these earth-like bodies.
